Overview

What the PMI-RMP® exam expects of you

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)® is PMI's specialist credential for people who identify, assess and respond to risk on projects and programs. Per PMI, the current exam content outline has five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (22%), Risk Identification (23%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (13%) and Monitor and Close Risks (19%). It covers both threats and opportunities, and it expects you to work with risk in predictive, agile and hybrid environments.

This is a program offered by P.U.L.L. for practitioners who want depth rather than breadth. Live sessions move from building a risk management plan and tailoring it to the organization's risk appetite, through facilitation techniques for identifying risks, into qualitative scoring, probability and impact assessment, quantitative modelling concepts such as expected monetary value and simulation, and finally response planning, reserve management and ongoing monitoring.

Each learner gets a personalized study roadmap, daily follow-up, coaching calls to resolve weak domains, and an exam simulator loaded with risk-focused scenarios and rationales. Application support covers how to describe your risk management experience and how your training hours count toward PMI's requirement.

Exam and certification

PMI-RMP® questions, answered

What does the PMI-RMP exam actually test?

Per PMI, it tests five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. Questions are situational and cover threats and opportunities in predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

How many questions does the PMI-RMP exam have?

Per PMI, the PMI-RMP® exam has 115 questions, of which 100 are scored and 15 are unscored pretest items, in 150 minutes. Our simulator mocks match that count and timing.

Does the PMI-RMP exam require heavy math?

You need to be comfortable with concepts such as expected monetary value, probability and impact scoring and the ideas behind simulation, but not advanced statistics. We teach the calculations step by step with worked examples.

What counts as project risk management experience?

Per PMI, it is time spent specifically on risk management activities on projects, such as planning risk management, identifying and analyzing risks and implementing responses, rather than general project management work. Our application support helps you separate and describe those hours.

Do the course hours count toward the education requirement?

Yes, instructor-led project risk management training can be used toward the education hours PMI requires for the PMI-RMP® application, per PMI's guidelines. We provide documentation of your completed hours.

How do I keep the PMI-RMP certification active?

Per PMI, the PMI-RMP® is valid for three years and renewed with 30 professional development units focused on risk management. We show you practical ways to earn those PDUs through your work.

Why prepare with P.U.L.L.

Specialist depth, taught live

Risk analysis is easier to learn when you can ask why a number moved; our live sessions work through registers, decision trees and reserves together rather than leaving you with slides.

Quantitative topics made approachable

Expected monetary value, sensitivity analysis and simulation are introduced with plain-English examples and then practiced on the simulator until they feel routine.

A roadmap plus daily follow-up

Your personalized plan covers all five domains in proportion to their exam weight, and daily check-ins catch drift before it costs you weeks.

Application help from the start

We help you identify which of your past activities count as risk management experience and how to describe them, so your application is complete the first time.
