Overview

What the PMI-ACP® exam expects of you

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® is PMI's credential for people who work in agile and hybrid teams, and it is framework-neutral by design. Per PMI, the current exam content outline is organized into four domains: Mindset (28%), Leadership (25%), Product (19%) and Delivery (28%). Instead of testing one method, it asks whether you understand agile values and principles deeply enough to choose a sensible practice in a given situation, whether that is Scrum, Kanban, Lean, extreme programming or a scaled approach.

This is a program offered by P.U.L.L. for practitioners who already work in or alongside agile teams and want to formalize that experience. Live sessions are built around team situations: a product owner who cannot prioritize, a team whose velocity is unstable, a stakeholder who wants a fixed scope and date, a retrospective that produces no change. You learn how an agile practitioner would respond and, just as importantly, why the exam prefers that response.

You receive a personalized study roadmap, daily follow-up between sessions, coaching calls for the domains that give you trouble, and an exam simulator with timed mocks and explanations. Application support helps you describe your agile project experience and confirm your training hours in the way PMI expects.

Exam and certification

PMI-ACP® questions, answered

Is the PMI-ACP exam about Scrum?

No, per PMI the exam is framework-neutral and draws on Scrum, Kanban, Lean, extreme programming and other approaches. Our sessions teach you to answer from agile values and principles rather than from one framework's rulebook.

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam and how long do I get?

Per PMI, the PMI-ACP® exam has 120 questions and allows 180 minutes. Our simulator mocks match that length and pacing.

What are the PMI-ACP exam domains?

Per PMI, the current exam is organized into Mindset (28%), Leadership (25%), Product (19%) and Delivery (28%). Mindset and Delivery together make up more than half of the questions.

How much agile experience do I need to apply?

Per PMI, you need a secondary diploma or higher, 21 hours of formal agile training, and ONE of the following: 24 months of agile experience within the past 5 years; a GAC-accredited degree plus 12 months of agile experience; 12 months of agile experience plus a current third-party agile certification (for example Scrum or SAFe) that was earned more than one year ago; or an active PMP® certification. Our application support helps you document the months correctly.

Do the course hours count toward the agile training requirement?

Yes, instructor-led agile training can be counted toward the 21 hours of agile training PMI requires for the PMI-ACP® application, per PMI's guidelines. We provide documentation of your completed hours.

How do I renew the PMI-ACP certification?

Per PMI, the PMI-ACP® is valid for three years and renewed with 30 professional development units in agile topics. Much of your day-to-day agile work and learning can count.

Why prepare with P.U.L.L.

We run the class the agile way

Sessions use backlogs, stand-ups and retrospectives as teaching tools, so you experience the practices while you study them.

Framework-neutral by design

You learn to reason from agile values and principles, which is how the exam is written, instead of memorizing one method's ceremonies.

Coaching where marks are lost

Mindset and leadership questions trip up experienced practitioners most, so coaching calls concentrate on those domains.

Roadmap, follow-up, application

A personalized plan, daily check-ins and help with your experience write-ups mean nothing is left to chance between enrollment and exam day.
