Overview

What the CAPM® exam expects of you

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® is PMI's entry-level credential, built for people who are new to project management or who support projects without yet leading them. Per PMI, the current exam content outline has four domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%) and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%). No project leadership experience is required to apply, which makes it a practical first step.

This is a program offered by P.U.L.L. and it is taught differently from our advanced programs: we assume no prior project management training. Live sessions start with what a project is, how it moves through its life cycle and who does what, then build toward predictive planning, agile ways of working and the business analysis skills that connect requirements to delivery. Terms are introduced in plain English and immediately applied to small, realistic examples.

Each learner receives a personalized study roadmap, daily follow-up to keep a steady pace, coaching calls to reinforce the concepts that take longer to settle, and an exam simulator with timed mocks and explanations written for newcomers. Application support covers the PMI account, the education-hours requirement and scheduling the exam.

CAPM® questions, answered

Do I need project experience to take the CAPM exam?

No, per PMI the CAPM® has no experience requirement; you need a secondary degree and 23 hours of project management education. That makes it a realistic first credential for students and career changers.

How many questions are on the CAPM exam?

Per PMI, the CAPM® exam has 150 questions and allows three hours. Our simulator mocks match the count and timing so the real exam feels familiar.

Does the CAPM exam include agile and business analysis?

Yes, per PMI the current exam includes an Agile Frameworks and Methodologies domain and a Business Analysis Frameworks domain alongside fundamentals and predictive methods. Our curriculum gives each domain time in proportion to its weight.

Do the course hours count toward the 23-hour education requirement?

Yes, instructor-led project management training can be used toward the 23 hours PMI requires for the CAPM® application, per PMI's guidelines. We provide documentation of your completed hours.

Can the CAPM help me get the PMP later?

Yes, per PMI an active CAPM® satisfies the 35-hour education requirement for the PMP® application, although you still need the required project leadership experience. We map a path from one to the other in your roadmap.

How long is the CAPM valid and how do I renew it?

Per PMI, the CAPM® is valid for three years and renewed by earning 15 professional development units in each cycle. We explain how everyday learning and work activities can count.
